Because there's no full blow-dry or styling finish, appointments typically run around 45 minutes, making this a time-efficient option for busy schedules.

• Want a quicker, more affordable alternative to a wash, cut and blow-dry
• Are due a routine trim and don't need a full styled finish on the day
• Want an accurate cut assessed on clean, freshly washed hair, which helps the stylist see natural fall and texture more clearly than on unwashed hair

If you'd like a polished, styled result to leave with, such as round-brush work or heat styling, ask about adding a blow-dry as an extra service.

What to Expect and Aftercare

Our stylists at Jayne Elliott Hair Company in Lutterworth, including Jayne Elliott, Kasie Pearce, Lisa Reeve and Donna Brookes, will talk through your desired length and shape before cutting, then cross-check the result once dried enough to see the true shape.

A few aftercare notes:

• Try to wait around 24 hours before your next full shampoo
• Use lukewarm water, with shampoo focused on the scalp and conditioner on mid-lengths and ends
• Pat hair dry rather than rubbing vigorously, and detangle gently from the ends upward
• Book a trim every 6 to 8 weeks to keep the shape looking sharp
